The Tertiary Education Trust fund has donated equipment worth millions of naira to Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.
The equipment which were supplied through Messrs Skill-G Limited covers four units of Machatronics, Autotronics, Air-conditioning and Electronics and communication.
The donation which is a special intervention from the TETfund is to improve science education in the University.
Speaking while inspecting the equipment, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu promised that they would be put to use for the purpose they are meant, and that a laboratory would soon be built to house them.
He appreciated Messrs Skill-G for the prompt delivery of the equipment and urged the user department to make good use of them.
In his remarks, the Leader of the team from the company, Engr. Samson Okoli thanked the University Management for the warm reception accorded them, and assured that they would always be available each time their services were needed.
He stressed that the company has supplied a state-of-the-art equipment and hoped that the University would derive a lot of benefit from them.
The Head of Department of Physics, Dr. Ibrahim Suleiman Kuta, assisted by the Dean of Faculty of Natural Science, Dr. Yahaya Aliyu Badeggi took the University Management and the staff of Skill-G round the four laboratories where the equipment are temporarily housed.
In a closing remarks, the Registrar, Alhaji Musa Ango Abdullahi thanked the team and most especially the TETfund for the kind gesture.
