Vice Chancellor Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai,Professor Abu Kasim Adamu has appealed for more physical infrastructural intervention in the institution .
The Vice Chancellor made the appeal when the Executive Governor of Niger State, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Ketso inspected ongoing construction of two hostels accommodation at the Institution.
Professor Abu Kasim explained that the issue of accommodation is of the problems the institution is facing, stressing that over seventy percent of the students leave off campus.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the intervention, affirming that it will go a long way in reducing the challenges faced interms of accommodation by students.
In his remarks after the assessment, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, represented by his Deputy Ahmed Muhammad Ketso said the aim of the inspection tour is to know the status of the project in the institution.
Governor Sani Bello however expressed satisfaction with thw level of work so far.
When asked on the issue of security of students on the campus, he said the security challenges is not only peculiar to the University alone, but the country at large, assuring that the government in collaboration with the Local Government Council Chairmen and traditional rulers are doing everything possible to protect lives and prosperity of all the student in all its institutions across the state.
The two hostels accommodations are for female and male students which, when completed will accommodate over three hundred students.
