The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai has given the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) a pat on the back for being consistent and deligent in the training and retraining staff of the University.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu made this known at the closing ceremony of a three day induction training for newly recruited academic staff of the Institution in Lapai.
He said for some time now the College has been in the lead in facilitating workshops aimed at staff development in the University, stressing that such was made possible in view of the focus and determination of the Management in realising the mission, vision and mandate of the Institution.
Professor Adamu appreciated the zeal and determination of the inductees during the training, adding that with such development, the best was expected of them in their areas of specialisation.
The Vice Chancellor reiterated the need for the participants to be dogged in going into researches that would be beneficial to them and to humanity, maintaining that it was through research that their worth would be known.
Speaking, the Registrar, Alhaji Musa Ango Abdullahi expressed satisfaction with the level of training received by the staff, and appealed to them to us the knowledge acquired to impact meaningfully on the the Institution.
He said the University was always ready to partner with training agencies like ASCON for its growth and development.
In his remarks, the representative of the Director General of ASCON, Mr. Ahmadu Haruna thanked the University Management for the careful selection of participants for the training, stressing that the set appeared to be the best.
He assured that certificates would ready for presentation in due course.
In a remark, the representative of the participants, Dr. Kamar Hamza said they were delighted to be given the opportunity to be in the programme.
He assured the University Management that a lot of research would be conducted and that books and journals would be published.
Dr. Kamar Hamza reaffirmed that skills acquired would be used to change academic activities on the campus for good.
In a vote of thanks, the Director, Academic Planning, Dr. Mohammed Aliyu Bello thanked ASCON and the University Management for organising the induction training despite paucity of fund.
He urged participants to see the training as an opportunity to develop, not only themselves, but the entire University community.
Before the closing ceremony, papers were presented by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu and the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Associate Professor Mohammed Aliyu Paiko on, Mission, Vision and Mandate of the University, as well as, Ethics and Conduct of Examination.
