The Counselling Association of Nigeria,(CASSON) has presented to the University Management, a book written in honour of it’s former President, Professor Frank Carew.

Receiving a delegation from the Counselling Association of Nigeria, led by the State Chairperson, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu appreciated the Association for the honour done Professor Carew, describing him as a living super icon.

Professor Adamu congratulated the Association for a successful conference and urged attendees to make good use of what was learnt.

He disclosed the time has come for the University to have a befitting Counselling Centre that would take care of, not only students, but also the staff, adding that arrengements are in the pipeline to for the structure to be put in place.

Speaking earlier, the State Chairperson, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed thanked the University Management for the role played during the just concluded conference of the Association.

She requested the University to consider upgrading the current Counseling Unit to a Centre.

The book, “The Nigerian Counsellor In the 21st Century: Festschrift in Honour of Professor Frank C. Carew”, and edited by Egbochuku E.O etal, was formally presented to the Vice Chancellor.
