The Vice Chancellor Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu has advised non-teaching staff under training to consider the University first at all times.

He gave the advice at the flagging off a three day induction training workshop for non-teaching staff of the University, facilitated by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria, (ASCON) in Lapai.

The Vice Chancellor explained that the University is an academic environment which has an aspiration of becoming an international institution, as spelt out in its mission, vision and mandate.

The Vice Chancellor who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academics Associate Professor Mohammed Aliyu Paiko emphasized the importance of the training, affirming that it would avail the participants with the mission and vision of the University.

Professor Abu Kasim congratulated the participants for being choosen among thousands for the training and commended the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) for a long standing relationship with the University.

In his welcome Remarks, the Registrar, Alhaji Musa Ango Abdullahi, represented by the Establishment Secretary, Alhaji Idris Saleh Kusherki stated that the importance of the training workshop cannot be over emphasized, stressing that where knowledge and skills are available, effective performance was necessary .

Alhaji Musa Ango added that the thirty two participants were strategically drawn from various departments and urged them to listen carefully,seek clarification and interact to enable them to be well integrated into the system at the end of the training.

Also speaking, the Director General of ASCON, Mrs. Cecilia Gayya, represented by the Director Studies, Alhaji Baba Muhammad appreciated the University for the relationship between it and the College.

Mrs. Gayya pledge to deliver on the mandate of the College to training the participants in order to cement the already existing relationship, and appealed to them not to disappoint their employee.

Also in brief remarks, the Director Quality Assurance, Associate Professor Ebenezer Ogungbe advised the participants to always be up and doing in the discharge of their official duties.

He applauded the University Management for making it possible to give the inductees the required training that would make them fit into the University system.

In a closing remarks, the Establishment Secretary, Alhaji Idris Saleh Kusherki appreciated the Vice Chancellor for his support and understanding.

Alhaji Kusherki urged participants to be disciplined, listen attentively, and interact easily in the course of the training.
