Pursuance to the realisation of its entrepreneurship drive for every student of the Institution, the Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai has sponsored a contingent of 200 level students for train the trainers Solar Energy skills acquisition development programme at Asteven group Solar Academy, Lagos.
Receiving the students in the Management Committee Room of the University after an intensive and successful training programme in Lagos, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Nasir Maiturare reiterated the determination of the Management to ensure that graduates of the University were not only sound in both learning and character but also acquire relevant entrepreneurship skills that could make them self-reliant and employers of labour after graduation.
He assured of continued support to the activities of Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development of the University; pointing out that efforts would be made to ensure that the training acquired by the students would be maximally utilised in the University.
Professor Maiturare congratulated the students for successful completion of the training programme and urged them to make optimum use of the knowledge gained from the training.
Earlier, while presenting the students to the Management, the Director, Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development of the University, Dr. Mohammed Mawoli expressed appreciation for the unwavering support and cooperation the students received from the University.
He disclosed that the students demonstrated high sense of discipline during the training sessions at the academy, which made them excel outstandingly above their peers at the academy.
Dr. Mawoli appealed for an immediate workshop on Solar energy development skills so that more of students in the University could benefit from the programme.
Speaking separately, the Students Union President and Solar Energy Club President, Comrade Mohammed Ayuba Muye and Shehu Ahmad Rabiu respectively appreciated the unflinching support the students received from the Management to attend the training programme in Lagos.
They promised to make judicious use of the knowledge acquired during the training programme.
