A 400 Level student of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Miss Blessing Danjuma is to represent Nigeria at the World University Games in China.

Blessing who is Gbagyi by tribe from Garam in Tafa Local Government of Niger State was presented to the Vice Chancellor in his office by the University’s Director of Sports, Dr. Aliyu Mohammed who was represented by the Principal Sports Officer, Malam Baba Mohammed Dzukogi.

ln a remark, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu urged the student to be good ambassador of the University, Niger State and Nigeria.

He said her effort will be making the University more visible on the world map in terms of sports, stressing the she should see herself as a role model for others to emulate.

Professor Adamu prayed for her to win more laurels for the University and the country, adding that she would continue to be motivated by the University Management.

Speaking earlier, the representative of the University Director of Sports, a Principal Sports Officer, Malam Baba Mohammed Dzukogi disclosed that Blessing is one of the 75 student-athletes who were selected from 22 universities to represent Nigeria in seven different sports disciplines.

He appreciated the Vice Chancellor for the attention he has been giving to sports in the University which he said has led to the emergence of Blessing Danjuma.

He said the Directorate of Sports will continue to appreciate the Vice Chancellor and his team for all the support.

Responding, Miss Blessing Danjuma expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for the encouragement she has been receiving, adding that she would ensure the she makes the University and Nigeria proud.

The History and International Studies student also vowed to Educate the world about Nigerian Culture.

She promised to promote the spirit of Nigeria at the International University Sports by playing by the rules and abiding by them.

Blessing Danjuma also promised to educate the world about the Nigerian cultural diversity.

Nigeria is expected to compete for honors in seven games, including Track and Field, Swimming, Badminton, Judo, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, and Tennis.
