The Vice Chancellor, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu has applauded research team of the Institution for commendable feats and encouraged them to ensure that outputs of their studies are published in the high-impact international journals so as to attract more grants.

He made the statement during an interface with the representatives of Central Monitoring Committee and Evaluation of the National Research Fund of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund) who were on working visit to the University.

The Vice Chancellor reiterated that the mandate of IBB University remains teaching, research and community service, which would be pursued with every vigour.

He urged the researchers to engage themselves in community services, saying if the host community benefits from any research project of the University, it would in turn strengthen the town/gown relationship.

Professor Adamu challenged the research team to build sustainable plans in terms of human and material resources to keep the project going.

In his presentation, the Leader of the Monitoring Committee and Evaluation of the National Research Fund of the Tetfund, Professor Sunday Atawodi applauded the University research team for the good work, adding that the monitoring team is impress with the progress of the research projects being undertaken under the National Research Fund.

He stressed the need for the researchers to always publish their research work in high quality journals to attract international grants so as to enable them conduct more research works.

Professor Atawodi emphasized on the need for the researchers to work on how to commercialized their projects to generate revenue for the University .

In his vote of thanks, the Registrar, Alhaji Musa Ango Abdullahi commended the Monitoring team for showing interest in the research projects being executed from NFR grant.

He assured that the University Management would give researchers the necessary support and work on the team’s recommendation.

Highlight of the event was the project inspection and evaluation, as well as presentation of gifts to the team members.
