The Management of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai has paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Minna who is the Chancellor of the Institution over the death of Sarkin Zazzau , Alhaji Shehu Idris whose sad event occurred on Sunday, 20th September, 2020 at a Military Hospital in Kaduna.

Speaking during the condolence visit, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu described the deceased as a pillar of traditional institution not only in the north but the country at large who was a bridge between diverse religious and ethnic nationalities that has used wisdom and prestige to transformed Zazzau Kingdom and also maintained peace in Kaduna State as a whole.

He said the demise of Sarkin Zazzau was a great loss to the country in view of enormous contributions and sacrifices to the development of the country.

Professor Adamu prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased Aljannat Firdaus and family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The Emir of Minna, Alhaji (Dr) Umaru Farouk Bahago while responding, thanked the Management of the University for finding time to share in grief with the Emirate the loss of one of the strongholds of traditional institutions in the north.

He reaffirmed his continued support to the growth and development of the University and expressed satisfaction with developmental strides of the current leadership of the Institution.

The late Sarkin Zazzau was a father in-law to the Emir of Minna.
