AS ACCREDITATION EXERCISE CONTINUES, TEAM BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION COMMENDS IBBUL, EXPRESSES HOPE FOR CONTINUED EXCELLENCE

The National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation panel for the Department of Business Administration has concluded its assessment visit to Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, with commendations on the Institution’s progress and a renewed call for sustaining standards.

Speaking during the exit briefing held at the Abdulkadir Kure Senate Chamber, the Team Leader, Professor Samaila Maude, emphasized that the essence of accreditation is to strengthen quality and ensure global competitiveness of Nigerian universities, not to destroy, but to build institutions.

He affirmed that IBB University is steadily advancing in key operational areas and that the team’s observations were targeted at fostering continuous improvement.

“We are partners in progress. This University is our own, and we are here to support growth and excellence. There is no witch-hunting in accreditation; only a collective push towards achieving the best,” he stated.

Professor Maude highlighted the dedication and cooperation demonstrated by Staff and Management throughout the exercise, describing it as a mark of institutional maturity.

He expressed optimism that the recommendations provided would be given priority attention, noting that IBBUL has great potential to become a leading hub for management and entrepreneurial research.

He urged the University to sustain its drive for infrastructural development, digital integration in teaching and learning, and standard academic practices that align with national and international benchmarks.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mohammed Hadi Sulaiman, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Professor Salihu Mohammed Niworu, appreciated the NUC team for carrying out the assignment with high professionalism, fairness, and commitment to quality assurance.

He reiterated the University’s unwavering resolve to implement the feedback received in order to uplift the Business Administration programme to a distinguished height.

“At IBBUL, quality education is not negotiable. We are building an institution that offers practical knowledge, supports innovation, and produces graduates that can compete anywhere in the world,” he said.

Professor Sulaiman further expressed pride in the University community for maintaining a culture of teamwork that aligns with global best practices.

He noted that IBBUL remains committed to bridging gaps in infrastructure, strengthening faculty capacity, and enhancing student learning experiences.

The Vice Chancellor equally acknowledged the Niger State Government and other stakeholders whose support continues to propel the University to greater heights.

He assured that Management will leave no stone unturned in addressing all highlighted needs to ensure a seamless accreditation outcome.

Delivering the Vote of Thanks, the Registrar, Alhaji Idris Sale Kusherki, represented by the Establishment Secretary, Mr. Sunday Gana, applauded the accreditation panel for its sacrifice, expertise, and guidance throughout the visit.

He described the constructive recommendations as a roadmap that will further reposition the department and the University at large.

Alhaji Kusherki assured the visiting team that the University would act promptly on all actionable inputs while enhancing areas where strength has already been demonstrated.
