IBBU STAFF TRAINED ON NEW ONLINE ASSET DECLARATION SYSTEM BY CODE OF CONDUCT BUREAU (CCB)

Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai in collaboration with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), has held a sensitisation programme for staff on the review of the nominal roll and the introduction of the self-service system for asset declaration forms.

The event, which took place at the Senate Chamber of Abdulkadir Kure Senate Building, brought together staff from various Departments, Academic and non- teaching to gain a better understanding of the newly introduced digital platform for asset declaration.

Declaring the programme open, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Hadi Sulaiman, represented by the Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Academic Professor Muhammad Aliyu Bello, commended the Code of Conduct Bureau for its proactive effort in educating public officers on the new system.

He said the sensitisation was timely and in line with the University’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

Professor Sulaiman described the self-service system as a major step towards promoting efficiency and reducing bureaucratic delays in the asset declaration process.

He added that IBBU, as a public Institution, values integrity and would continue to align itself with national reforms that encourage ethical conduct among staff.

He also urged participants to take advantage of the opportunity to understand the process thoroughly, stressing that compliance with asset declaration laws is both a legal and moral responsibility of every public servant.

Representing the State Director of the Code of Conduct Bureau, Mrs. Deborah Charles, the Assistant Chief Superintendent of the Bureau, Mr. Gabriel O. Dairo, said the sensitisation was aimed at helping staff navigate the new self-service portal for asset declaration.

Mr. Dairo explained that the system was introduced to simplify the process, enhance record accuracy, and ensure greater transparency in public service.

He noted that public officers are required by law to declare their assets periodically, urging staff to treat the exercise with utmost seriousness and confidentiality.

The session concluded with a practical demonstration of how to complete the asset declaration form online, as participants were guided through each step of the new self-service system, including questions and answers.
