NEW IBBUL VICE CHANCELLOR SETS VISION FOR INSTITUTIONAL EXCELLENCE

The new Vice Chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai, Professor Mohammed Hadi Suleiman has outlined his vision for the institution, emphasizing the importance of a conducive learning environment, strategic partnerships, and infrastructural development.

He expressed gratitude for the warm reception, acknowledging the work of his predecessors and reaffirmed his commitment to elevating the University’s status nationally and internationally.

Professor Suleiman stressed the need for innovative funding strategies revealing plans to engage corporate organizations, particularly the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Company (CCECC), to support infrastructural development.

Drawing from his previous involvement with CCECC on railway transportation, he disclosed an initiative to ensure 24-hour electricity supply on campus.

He emphasized that uninterrupted power would significantly cut down operational costs and redirect resources to other developmental projects.

Professor Suleiman underscored the need for strategic partnerships with both local and international institutions, citing potential collaborations with the University of Pretoria, South Africa, aimed at expanding research opportunities and enhancing academic programs.

According to him, executing well-structured strategies will position IBB University as a premier institution in Nigeria and beyond.

Professor Suleiman appealed to all stakeholders Faculties, Students, and the State Government to join hands in actualizing the University’s vision expressing optimism that with collective dedication and innovative approaches, IBB University will attain excellence and global recognition.

The Emir of Lapai, His Royal Highness Alhaji Umaru Bago III, represented by the District Head of Katakpa, Barrister Sa’idu Abdullahi who holds the title of Rofyan Lapai, congratulated Professor Suleiman as the new Vice Chancellor of IBB University Lapai.

The Emir expressed confidence in the Vice Chancellor’s leadership, affirming that his deep roots in the region would inspire a heightened commitment to institutional development.

The Emir further acknowledged the contributions of previous Vice Chancellors in advancing the University’s academic standards and urged Professor Suleiman to build upon these foundations.

He assured the University community of his continued support in ensuring the institution’s growth and sustainability.
