Mallam Daniyan Mohammed Alfa

BURSAR

Mallam Daniyan Mohammed Alfa is the Bursar of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, where he serves as the University’s Chief Financial Officer. He is an experienced university administrator and accounting professional with extensive expertise in financial management, budgeting, revenue administration, payroll management, treasury operations, and institutional financial planning. He has over two decades of professional experience spanning the banking sector and university administration.

He began his career with industrial training at United Bank for Africa and later served with First Bank of Nigeria during the National Youth Service Corps before joining Assurance Bank as a Relationship Manager. In 2006, he joined Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai as Accountant II and steadily progressed through the ranks to Accountant I, Senior Accountant, Principal Accountant, Chief Accountant (Payroll), Deputy Bursar (Revenue), and was appointed substantive Bursar in January 2023.

Mallam Daniyan holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance, and is currently pursuing an M.Phil./Ph.D. in Accounting.

He is a Fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) and belongs to several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Chartered Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Chartered Institute of Finance and Control of Nigeria (CIFCON), Association of Bursars of Nigerian Universities (ABNU), Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (CPA).

As Bursar, he provides strategic leadership in financial planning, budget implementation, revenue generation, accounting services, financial reporting, and investment management while ensuring prudent financial administration in support of the University’s vision.
