Alhaji Musa Ango Abdullahi was born at Kumbashi in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State on 14th January, 1964. The young Abdullahi began his western education at the Local Education Authority (L.E.A), Kumbashi Primary School in 1972 and finished in 1978 with Certificate of Primary Education.
As a result of his outstanding performance from the Primary School, he was admitted into the College of Arts and Islamic Studies, Minna in 1978 to pursue his Teachers’ Grade Two (II) Certificate and successfully graduated in 1983 with flying colours.
In his quest for further education, the young intelligent Abdullahi proceeded to Niger State College of Education, Minna from 1984 – 1987 for his National Certificate in Education.
With the burning desire to become one among the very few graduates in his local community in those yesteryears, Mallam Abdullahi applied and gained admission into one of the fast growing second generation universities in northern Nigeria, Bayero University, Kano between 1988 – 1991 and bagged a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Education (Geography), B. Ed Geography.
Not yet accomplished to reach the zenith of his educational pursuits, the determined Abdullahi enrolled for his Masters programme in Federal University of Technology, Minna from 1998 – 2000 and obtained Master of Technology in Meteorology (M.Tech, Meteorology).
He blended his educational qualifications, graduating with certificate each in Cabin Crew Competency and Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA) from Kabo Air Training School, Kano (2001) and Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru (2012) respectively to further prepare him for opportunities in both private and public service.
His working career commenced as a Classroom Teacher at Kumbashi Primary School in 1983. After his NCE from Niger State College of Education, Minna in 1987, Alhaji Abdullahi participated in the then Voluntary Teachers Service Scheme (VTS) of Niger State and served at Mua’zu Ibrahim Commercial Secondary School, Kotangora from 1987 – 1988. Upon completion of the state voluntary service, he took tenure appointment with Niger State Government as Education Officer (E.O VII) and was posted to Mua’zu Ibrahim Commercial Secondary School, Kotangora in 1993. He equally taught briefly at Government Day Secondary School, Kotangora in 1994 before taking another appointment with Niger State College of Education, Minna as a Lecturer. Mallam Abdullahi progressed steadily through ranks and was appointed Deputy Director, Linkages Programmes (UNICEF) in 2001, Deputy Director, Long Vacation Semester Programme from 2001 – 2003, Ag. Head of Department, Geography (2002 – 2003), Director, NCE/LVSP, Centre for Continuing Education (2003 – 2005) as well as Coordinator, Geography, Directorate of University Affiliated Programmes in 2006.
Having had a stint in Lecturing career, he transferred his services to Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai, in 2006 to start a new career in University administration and was appointed Senior Assistant Registrar in charge of Students Affairs. He had a diligent progression in ranks to become the only pioneer career Deputy Registrar in the University in 2012.
Alhaji Abdullahi during the course of his career held several administrative and ad-hoc responsibilities which include: Secretary, Geography Department, COE, Minna, Member, Logistic Committee, Convocation ceremony, COE, Minna (2005), Member, Committee on 2006/2007 Students’ Orientation Programme, IBBUL, Secretary, Junior Staff Interview – 2007, Chairman, Committee on Students Matriculation – 2008, Secretary, Principal Officers Enlightenment Tour of the Twenty Five Local Government Areas of Niger State – 2008, Member, Senate Disciplinary Committee to investigate dual appointment of a staff, Secretary, Governing Council sub- committee on University resources and projects, among many others.
He has attended several Local and International Seminars and Workshops to bolster his working experience from 2002 to date.
Alhaji Abdullahi is a member of several Professional bodies chiefly among them is Association of Nigeria Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA).
His Community Services include, Voluntary Teaching Service Scheme, Niger State,(1987 – 1988), Cabin Staff during Hajj Operations (1994 – 2006) and Facilitator, Community Action for Popular Participation (CAPP), USAID, 2000.
Alhaji Abdullahi enjoys reading and travelling as his hobbies. He is married and blessed with children.
