THE VICE CHANCELLOR

BIOGRAPHY

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Abu Kasimu Adamu is an indigene of Dukku in Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State. He received his early education at Central Primary School, Dukku in 1980, had his Secondary education at Government Science College, Kagara (1985), after which he enrolled into the School of Basic Studies of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria for Interim Joint Matriculation Board Examination (I.J.M.B). He proceeded to the same famous Ivory Tower to obtain Bachelor of Science in Botany, Second Class Upper Division (B.Sc. Botany, 1989).

Not yet fulfilled with his dream to become an accomplished scholar, Professor Adamu continued his pursuits for additional qualifications and obtained M.Sc Botany and Ph.D, crop breeding in the same Institution from 1993 - 2001 respectively. Within the period, the astute scholar went to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka for a Certificate in Tissue Biotechnology in 1995.

Professor Abu Kasim Adamu is a member several professional bodies such as Botanical Society of Nigeria, Genetic Society of Nigeria, National Association of Nuclear Scientist and Science Teachers Association of Nigeria.
